I first met Susan through our mutual love of horses and was more than impressed by her skill and her kindness as a rider. As the years passed, I reconnected with her during my first judicial campaign and kept in touch through her interest in progressive causes. Her love for the community and for her children was unmatched. We will all miss her and remain certain that heaven now has another angel.

I am devastated to learn of the loss of a great friend of mine. I have the fondest of memories of Susan especially from our high school years. After many years apart, we reconnected through social media and had opportunities to chat on the phone. I shall ever remember Susan as a beautiful person, inside and out. I shall miss her greatly. Dear Truitt Family,
Susan and I shared an office at Walnut Ridge High School, Susan was always so positive and upbeat, she worked diligently for her students. Her face would light up when she shared stories about her family, her parents, her sisters and those beautiful children. Ian, Austen and Tory she would share with me all of your accomplishments and endeavors, she was so proud of you 3 and I could hear the love she felt for you in her voice. I am so blessed to have had Susan in my life.
